Safir-Whorf hypothesis was wrong as was Donald Knuth. Linguists like Chomsky and Pinker criticized him for insuffient clarity, and this is to some extent racist especially when used against Hopi people. There no conception of linear time, tense and numbers in many culture and language that does not mean they are influenced by that.
